Lymphatic Drainage

What is the Lymphatic system ?

The Lymphatic system is composed of a vascular net-work of thin-walled capillaries and large vessels inter-twined with arteries and veins, which run lymphatic fluid in different directions under the skin and from various organs. Lymphatic fluid is a filtrate of the blood, transporting numerous substances to filter out, such as dead and large molecules of proteins, damaged cells, fatty acids, hormones, debris matter, bacteria, molecules pro-cancer cells, parasites, viruses and metabolic waste.

The Importance of the Lymphatic System

It is part of the body’s immune system, which carries a vast variety and quantity of immune cells. Fighting and eradicating pathogenic/infectious organisms trying to attack our body are what this system accomplish besides keeping the whole body flushing, recycling and ultimately less toxic.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage ?

It is a medical approach used to treat the lymphatic system of the human body with hands-on gentle, slow and precise rhythmic techniques designed to promote and stimulate the proper functioning of the system. It is a non-invasive treatment that was conceived in 1891 Europe and developed in 1936 by Emil Vodder, MD. Without the use of oil, creating maneuvers with the right momentums, pressure, depth and direction is crucial to achieve profound results.

The Benefits of Lymph Drainage

1- Reduction of substantial swelling ( edemas ) and Lymphedemas of many origins
2- Detoxification of the body
3- Regeneration of tissues due to burns, and pre and post-surgical scarring
4- Anti-aging effects
5- Removes stagnated metabolic waste
6- Stops the leakage of dead molecules of proteins back into the venous blood circulatory system
7- Increases energy levels
8- Increases and transports of nutrients that feed every cell
9- Reduces bruises after any trauma
10- Helps re-circulate and reroute misdirected lymph fluids or patterns
11- Promotes collateral circulation
12- Breaks down fibrosis inside the tissues
13- Reduces sluggishness of the body
14- Increases resistance to disease
15- Relief chronic pain
16- Reduces the symptoms of chronic fatigue and Fibromyalgia
17- Reduces allergies
18- Stimulates immune cells production
19- Induces deep state of relaxation
20- Restores lymphatic tissues that have been damaged by surgery, stress or trauma
21- Clinical studies have shown that it activates venous reabsorption. Ribot R, Le Flux Lymphatique et sa therapie manuelle, Sauramps Medical, 1990.
22- Facilitates extra cranial lymphatic circulation and activates cerebrospinal fluid, venous exchanges/lymphatic exchanges
23- Reduces intracranial pressure
24- Stimulates all other fluids fluctuations of the body, ex. cerebrospinal fluid
25- Helps the body to eliminate fungus and mildews hiding inside the tissues
26- Helps the gastrointestinal's Peyer patches organism to fight Candida Albicans
27- Reduces the excess of phlegm
28- Keeps your skin healthier

Our longevity depends on this system too

There is three to four times as much lymph fluid as blood in the body and a lymph system directly affecting cellular health. The entire system is quite ingenious as nature intended due to the fact that lymph is the vacuum cleaner of the intercellular spaces of the body.
The lymph's primary organs are thymus gland, bone marrow, and it's chemical composition which is extremely variable because of its clean-up duties throughout lymph fluid , lymphatics , lymph nodes , tonsils , adenoids , spleen and peyer's patches.
By regularly pumping and flushing the lymphatic system an enhancement of our life spam may occur.
